単為生殖をするワラジムシ


Trichorhina tomentosa (Budde-Lund, 1893)

シロワラジムシ、シロホソワラジムシとして出回るが正式な和名ではないようだ。

メスのみ。オスは知られていない。

色は白く、複眼は個眼1つ。

原産地はアマゾンなどの熱帯アメリカだが、世界中の熱帯や温室に侵入している。

メスのみの単為生殖の集団とオスがいる両性生殖の集団あり。

イギリスなどヨーロッパ原産。アメリカなどにも拡大している。

この種も両性生殖と単為生殖があり、倍数性は前者は2n、後者は3nである。

イタリアのシシリー島の洞窟だけにいるオカダンゴムシ属の一種。

色が白い。

メスのみが大量に見つかるため、単為生殖かもしれないらしい。
